ACLC is fortunate to have a Counseling staff with a wide range of experience including academic, college and social-emotional counseling, a remarkable offering for a school our size.
Amanda joined ACLC as School Counselor in 2018. She holds a B.S. in Industrial and Organizational Psychology, and received a dual Master's degree in School Counseling and Marriage and Family Therapy from Saint Mary's College. She finds the role of School Counselor very rewarding and is excited to be working with learners, parents, facilitators and administrators in a school community that is committed to educational success. Before coming to ACLC, Amanda spent two years as an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist in the San Ramon Unified School District. Before that, she spent one year as a School Counseling intern at a high school in the San Ramon Unified School District. Amanda grew up in Overland Park, Kansas and now lives in San Ramon with her husband and son.

Celeste joined CLC Schools as College Counselor in 2020. She earned her Master's Degree in Counselor Education and School Counseling Credential from San Jose State University and her Bachelor's Degree from the University of California, Santa Cruz.
Soon after graduating from Santa Cruz, Celeste went to work at Fremont High School in Sunnyvale, CA as the College and Career Center Advisor. In this role she assisted students and families in navigating the college application and financial aid process. Through this work, she realized how much she enjoyed counseling students and decided to pursue further education in the counseling field.
Celeste finds it important to be available to learners, both to help ease the stress and worry that often comes with taking steps into higher education and to celebrate with them once they receive those eagerly-awaited acceptance letters. Her past professional experience also includes working as a Family Resource Specialist with the Marine Corps, and with students with special needs as they transitioned from high school into certificate programs or the workforce.
Celeste is a Coast Guard spouse and has lived in a variety of places, from San Diego and Humboldt, California to Long Island, NY and Puerto Rico. She currently lives in Alameda, with her husband and their three young boys. Being back in the Bay Area allows her more time with extended family, as she grew up down the road in Santa Clara.
If you have any questions, please visit the College Counselor's Website and/or email Celeste Howard.
