This class is taught as a three-year cycle, each cycle lasts for one year.  In the course of three years students develop literary critical analysis skills, critical writing skills, editing skills, and engage in explorations of themselves, their cultures and other cultures and voices.  Students read, discuss, reflect and write about a variety of texts – including poetry, the short story, the novel, drama, nonfiction, popular media, and film – as they strive to understand what these texts reveal about modern culture.
