This is a course where emphasis is placed on the important concepts applicable to all living organisms and systems. Laboratory inquiry, field projects, demonstrations and course work is designed to develop a thorough understanding of cellular biology, genetics, ecological relationships, chemistry of life, as well as an understanding of natural history in regards to both the animal and plant kingdoms (taxonomy). Laboratory and field study work will develop students reasoning power, the ability to apply biological principles; as well as acquaint students with biological laboratory and field study techniques.
